Time. It really does fly. 

And where we might find ourselves in any given moment can be fraught with chaos, with thoughts about our place in the world, where so much is out of our control.  There seems little we can do to influence the ever so grand scheme of things, other than to keep busy, rushing to arrive at what's next in our days, weeks - our lives. To find the thing that might enliven us and make it all worthwhile.

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be someone else, someone I might imagine to be more together and secure in their outlook, more at ease with themselves, but then I realise we are all the same.  We suffer much of the time, in one way or another.

But then, out of nowhere we defy our own expectations. We touch a kind of clarity. We have a beautiful experience, we share a moment with a cherished soul, we achieve something we thought near impossible, we laugh in that crazy way with a close friend, wave after returning wave that sends tears tracking down our cheeks. We drink an ice cold beer in the warm afternoon sun. We, very briefly seem to pause time itself. We feel the embrace of the incandescent present - filling us with light.

The fact is we are here. Which in of itself is a small miracle. When I look at the sun, the sky, the stars, the light across the ocean, the way the sun illuminates the leaves of a tree adrift in summer's bright gaze, I am, for a second or two, absolutely free of thought. Free of the past and the future. I am, right here. 

We all exist within our own private universe.  No one yet can tap into how it feels to be you.  But know this:  You are wonderful despite your mistakes and flaws. Be good. Be kind. Be patient, adopt the pace of nature. Look up with love. The sky is always blue above the clouds.
