Sometimes I'm really grateful for being introduced to watercolour paint, because it creates the kind of vibrancy in this painting.   As a child my parents and two brothers had many family holidays in Scotland, so it's a place that resonates with me.  This painting is not a scene I know, or anything taken from a photograph.  It's simply an expression of a place.  I love the white cottages and crofts that dot the landscape in the highlands so these are my focus here.  Like much of my work my hope is that a viewer finds a a sense of peacefulness in this painting. 

I now provide framing consultation for each original painting, the cost includes that bespoke service.
