Meadow of the Haymakers (Original, Signed and Framed)
Meadow of the Haymakers (Original, Signed and Framed)
Painting Size: 85cm x 60cm
Media: Windsor and Newton Artists Watercolours
I was recently visiting the Yorkshire Dales to spend time with my brother and do some hiking. I arrived to fields of dry grasses and rolling buttercup hills and when out walking what I noticed most was the wonderful fragrance of the meadows, crammed full of wild flowers. It's funny how a scent can bring so much to mind, childhood, adventure, romance, friendship, laughter perhaps. Summertime I suppose is the time I feel most alive with energy.
On my way back from a long walk criss crossing the moors then down in to woodland, I happened on a field where tractors pulling strange machines were patrolling up and down. For about 30 minutes I watched transfixed as their machines gathered up dried grass, tumbled it around and then, as if giving birth, produced perfect hay bales. The smell was amazing and by the side of the field were all these daisies and wildflowers mingled with the grasses. This painting is my tribute to that lovely little experience.
I now provide framing consultation for each original painting, the cost includes that bespoke service. (Though for international and UK shipping - where unable to collect from my gallery - there will be an additional cost). I have a curated selection of 20 frames I work with that enhance with my work and colour palettes. Obviously, if you'd like to frame the artwork yourself there will be a reduction in the list price.
