There is a painter I admire for his ability to convert complex subjects into very simple forms through bold colourful combinations & textures. His name is Ivon Hitchens, a painter whose style lies somewhere between abstract and figurative - a kind of symbolic representation of the world. For me, very captivating.

Many artists from the Renaissance, Impressionist, even Pop Art period would copy each others work and this is my interpretation of Ivon Hitchens style, which in trying to emulate in some way helps me explore different approaches in creating a 'feeling' to the way I paint.  I hope that I've managed to capture a kind of tenderness in this still life, which was my aim.
