Fragments of Love (Original, Signed and Framed)

As I write this it's the 28th September 2024, my dog Poppy's birthday - she's 13 and laying fast asleep on the sofa as the autumn sun streams in behind me, filling the living room. 

Sadly, she's very unwell and as I type these words I'm in a strange hinterland of emotion not knowing what the following days will bring for her.  For every animal lover, these moments are incredibly hard to navigate and I've spent the past few days thinking about all the precious time we've shared. 

The great miles we have walked together, often just the two of us.  Perhaps on every trail, in every woodland, heath and meadow, across every hilltop and mountain there remains a fragment of love pressed into the earth. I hope so.

The sentiment I'm trying to capture in this painting is one of gratefulness.

For Poppy.  A never ending forest filled with all the light and love I can give.
