There is a small park area up from Churchill Square in Brighton, where the light one morning was crisp and perfect.  A man sat on a bench to my right, looking down on what I assumed would be a phone, but as I walked past him I saw that he was holding a set of beads.  I quickly made a note of the scene and managed to take a quick photo.  

As I write this I've just been researching on google maps to find if this particular patch of green brightness has a name.  It's called St. Nicholas Rest Garden, which is a lovely name for a place that feels peaceful, set behind the busy city below. 

A saint devoted to kindness and generosity.  A painting that I hope translates in some way this feeling.
