A vastness - Original Watercolour

At times I like to think about how vast things are and how small I am.  It's not in any way a negative way to look at things, for me, in a sense, it's grounding and reflective. 

There will be a great many things in my life that I won't see, I won't experience and I won't feel, because life is so vast in its potential for all of us. It would be impossible to navigate everything offered, even if we feel we are missing out. We could try and be okay with that, accept the vastness and not try to clutch onto it or try and consume as much of it as possible.

It's all wide open, let's accept it and get out there - see what we can, while we can. For me that includes the beauty of the natural world here in the UK.

As I prepare for another exhibition in Scotland, this painting has quite a bit going on, I would maybe describe it as 'bracing' - maybe wild and free in a way.  These thoughts mostly come out after the painting is finished, it's all a bit of a mystery, the process bit.  I hope for someone it offers a feeling of vastness and space.
