Sometimes, life throws you a kind of lifeline - something unexpected and lovely.

Hopefulness and excitement might accompany this joyful sparkle and all of a sudden, it's as if your senses are more alive, as if the very zest of life is something you can actually taste.  For a while you are high on yourself, you are happy - maybe you know it, maybe you don't.

Then, the lifeline snaps, for reasons out of your control and the reaction to this is key.  It's the difference between going under or treading water.  And tread we must, until the next lifeline is thrown to pull us up and out.

I feel this is a happy painting, with colour and light really radiating from it. 

Influenced by a view seen whilst walking in nature - a beautiful mid summer day, the sky a deep blue and a patch of water, a large wild pond, catching all of the light.
