{"product_id":"this-is-the-day-no-1","title":"This is the day No.1 - Original Oil Painting","description":"\u003cp\u003eOriginal oil painting on canvas\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e100cm x 120cm (unframed)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the first of a series of new paintings I produced for the Artists Open Houses Festival this year.  It's been a great festival, with lots of visitors, some positive comments and those special moments when a painting finds a new home.  I'm very grateful for those moments and for the fact that I can continue doing this and developing my work and what it means to me to be in a position to do so.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is the largest painting I've ever done.  Sweeping layers of oil paint, mixing my typical greens and blues with vibrant yellows and soft pinks.  I often say I want to create paintings that you feel you might be able to walk into, colours that are both peaceful and joyful.  To be happy all the time isn't possible, but to feel it in moments is a beautiful thing and this series of work is about living for the day, for the moment and realising that its all we have.
